THE KING AND THE TRAITOR by ekud THE KING AND THE TRAITOR by ekud
Justin Maller for The Monarch Series. Plenty more wallpapers and wonderment available at my recently updated portfolio.

Title tells the story, I'm sure you'll work it out. Had this as my wallpaper for a while, something about the outdoors feel sat well with me!

I actually took most of the photos in this piece, for anyone curious, including the main background.

I swear to god when I first loaded and looked at this, I could sense the trance I'm listening to suddenly slow down its BPM. Wild piece this most definitely is

I like the blown out sky, adds some much needed contrast. Butterfly brings a nice touch of colour too. Damn sneaky spiders, you can't trust them.

I'm not sure I have the attention span at this time of day to work it out, but it looks nice if you don't mind me saying that =P

Too bad there are some lighting issues, the piece is nice though. Not over the top yet not too subtle either :D.

Nice work with the photo's Justin!

Intensley atmospheric. A killer piece indeed, but that butterfly is just misplaced.

Butterfly is the crux of the piece though!

I agree with chaldea... the idea could be an antithesis between the two worlds but the butterfly is misplaced

Damn I didn't realise you were an aussie. I've been a fan for nearly as long as DA has been around :D

If I'm honest about this I don't really like it though, the foreground doesn't blend seamlessly with the background all that well.

The sky in the background photo is also way over-blown, maybe you intended for that effect but I think a polarizing filter would have taken a good photo and made it a great one.

- Peace man.

Yeah, it's all pretty deliberate. I'm fond of it as is, and finished it around six months ago, so will prob leave it here.
