the colour-contrast is a real eye-catcher

the only thing I think this piece is missing is a middle-ground.

that's a really cool piece, I enjoy those strong warm colours, and the way you incoporated the abstract into the ground texture is really interesting and successful. I'd only recommend to also add some texture to the render itself, to make it look like it was more a part of the ground/environment.
other than that, well done =)

This is one of the sweetest things i've seen from you.. this is'nt only abstract :D

btw.. do you color it in the 3dprogram or in PS?
or both?

Nice Work!

Textures are applied in the 3D program, of course, but the majority of the colouring is done in photoshop with color balance and channel mixing adjustment layers.

I'm quite fixated on the sky in this - in some parts it looks like an old photograph, in other places it looks CGed. Am I right on either count?

I like how the left part looks like something rising from the earth, and the right like something digging in. Nice use of circularity. :)

I thought so. Actually the one thing that stopped me from faving this instantly - and the one thing that in my view, keeps it from being perfect, is the part on the right side, where the CG meets the photograph of the ground... it just doesn't look right, in a way that's hard to explain. It's kind of like when you can tell if they're using forced perspective in a movie, or blue screen. Other than that, it's brilliant. It reminds me of the end of End of Evangelion (if you've ever seen it - if you haven't, I reccomend it, but only after seeing the Evangelion TV series), when the mass produced Evas fall from the sky and become stone statues.

I think maybe the intensity of the colour in the render and harsh contrast makes this image seem less serious than it should - in my opinion - be. But the way it's integrated into the photo makes up for that somewhat. The particles are pretty funky too.

Just simply another beautiful piece. It reminds me of a CG cutscene in a game where some magical force makes the Earth do weird stuff...

That didn't make much sense, but it's true. I just have no clue how to explain this properly.

Okay, let me redo my comment.

The render itself is fucking brilliant. I especially like it how the colours contrast aswell as how the smooth render just seems to 'go' with the rocky ground.

Although, as I said before in my previous comment, I'm a bit iffy about that white stuff in the top half. :/
