that's a really cool piece, I enjoy those strong warm colours, and the way you incoporated the abstract into the ground texture is really interesting and successful. I'd only recommend to also add some texture to the render itself, to make it look like it was more a part of the ground/environment.

I thought so. Actually the one thing that stopped me from faving this instantly - and the one thing that in my view, keeps it from being perfect, is the part on the right side, where the CG meets the photograph of the ground... it just doesn't look right, in a way that's hard to explain. It's kind of like when you can tell if they're using forced perspective in a movie, or blue screen. Other than that, it's brilliant. It reminds me of the end of End of Evangelion (if you've ever seen it - if you haven't, I reccomend it, but only after seeing the Evangelion TV series), when the mass produced Evas fall from the sky and become stone statues.
I think maybe the intensity of the colour in the render and harsh contrast makes this image seem less serious than it should - in my opinion - be. But the way it's integrated into the photo makes up for that somewhat. The particles are pretty funky too.
