really like this style you've been pushing out lately, but for some reason this one seems more.. rushed?, than the others. it's still very well done, i just don't think it looks nearly as finished/polished as the others i've seen from you thus far.
i think jean grae is an excellent subject (photogenically speaking) to work with, this style just doesn't look finished (to me) with such an empty background. it's hard for something to fit into nothingness, i guess?
I'm really starting to see your limits...
not to be mean, but this is the same stuff over and over and it doesn't even look good. the blending isn't anything special, the black of the render is way darker than the black on the lady, the lady is blurry compared to the over sharpened render... and most of all, this stuff has no meaning.
actually I do mean to be mean... you could use some criticism with all these comments like "Really nice, m8, congratz!!"
My limits? That's an interesting way of putting it.
You're right about the sharpening though; this was a huge image (like 4000x3000) and getting the right amount of sharp over it was a chore. Then I resized, and lost the clarity, so had to start again. I knew this was a problem with this piece.
Yes, the render is blacker than the photograph.
I'm not arguing with anything you say, and am grateful that you feel comfortable enough around me to be honest, but it also sounds like you were priming yourself to have a dig at me. You've seen my limits? That's a fairly arrogant and negative thing to say in my opinion, and I don't particularly appreciate it. I'll take any criticism you want to direct towards this one piece of work, but I don't appreciate personal digs like that.
